  1. Do it up Holy Name!! How about an X-Y-Z Pull!!!!
  2. I noticed that INT gets a 20 minute interval total while everyone else gets 17 minutes for setup, performance, and exit. Does INT have a lot of props to set this year?
  3. I was somehow hoping Cadets would put together a huge alumni corps (a la Madison or Cavies recently). They could do adjacent blocks of a) pre-1985 Cadets marching with a left-foot lead b) post-1985 Cadets marching with a right-foot lead. and then alternate in drill forms for various effects.
  4. Write sparingly but carry a lot of actual marching years. (Speak softly but carry a big stick.) Real veterans march.
  5. Crown needs narration this year. This: I AM ASPARAGUS!
  6. Okay. Scores averaged from both nights. San Antonio performance order? anyone with a calculator?
  7. Can I set up an auto-refresh with a Southwest airlines "ding" to wake me when scores appear?
  8. I'm thinking Chevy Chase at Octoberfest in National Lampoon's European Vacation. Pics?
  9. Subtract BD and Phantom. Add Garfield and Boston.
  10. Also, as groups improve from box 3 to box 4 to box 5, there are less tenths(points) with which to work. Currect point scales have more allowance for differentiation in the middle box than for the outer boxes. This makes it harder to give spreads.
  11. So, When DCI was founded prior to the first championship in 1972, the founding members were a merger of UOJC in the east and the Western combine in the west. Not all of those groups made it to Whitewater and not all that did made it into finals.(I know ) We had 7 "founders" in finals last year. If we go up to 8 this year, I think that would rock. This might require a tie score.
  12. I hope the judging panels stay put in Dallas and Houston as the corps exchange cities. It would save dci money and provide fairness.
  13. Last time Troopers received 2nd place trophy at a show?
  14. They are bands. No bugles. Tubas and trumpets.
  15. I missed INT tonight because I had to run and get mosquito repellent. No tornado in Windsor tonight but the skeeters were bad down on the track. First year at this location and the local band/parents/volunteers/etc. were great hosts and helped a lot. I won't give any reviews so as to remain neutral as a partisan for INT.
  16. " i'd be weary of the corps from canton this year." LOL. Are you that bored and tired?
  17. Saw them last night. 136 strong. (largest in their history). Troopers!
  18. Bias (noun) ie. There was a prevalent bias against his position on the matter. Biased (past participle, adjective) ie. That was a biased opinion. ie. He is biased. (NOT: Are you bias against me?)
  19. 2008 Phantom: Spartacus 2008 Blue Stars: Le Tour 2007 Blue Devils: Winged Victory 2007 Crown: Triple Crown 2007 Bluecoats: Criminal 2006 Blue Knights: Dark Knights 2005 Madison: The Carmen Project 2004 Santa Clara: Scheherazade 2004 Cavaliers: 007 2003 Cadets: My Favorite Things 2003 Boston Crusaders: Bravo 2003 Crossmen: Color PS: I want 12 corps!!!
  20. Does anyone out there have a review on the 1971 VFW DVDs I just ordered? Picture/sound quality, camera angle, etc. Is it better/worse that the Haas videos?
  21. I'll add the Bellmore Thunderstreaks, Farmingdale Vanguards, Holbrook Skylarks, Oceanside Legionaires, Smithtown Freelancers, Babylon Islanders, and all the other great LI corps. I believe we had over 25 corps on LI alone at one point or two not to mention the Greater NY circuit and others. Don't forget all the volunteer fire department parade corps and the weekly fire department parades we had for practice and exposure. For the win, what was Benny Sedano's LI corps named? Any guesses, Ironlips?
