good points, thats why I threw it out there

I know this is not the judges first read of the shows, i'm just talking about using the world class criteria sooner in the season

Why wouldn't they want to, they love performing or they wouldn't be in Drum Corps to begin with. This is an opportunity for them to get to play in the dome under the lights for their shows to shine which is an opportunity most open class corps do not get.

I am a World Class Alum and as a band director in small schools I now have so much respect for what Open class does. Just a point for discussion.... Since it was common knowledge that OC would be competing in WC prelims, should they have been exposed to the WC sheets earlier in the season to help them better prepare. It has to be hard for these kids to see their scores dropping 20 plus points. Should we just have one sheet and let the scores fall where they fall? I am no way implying that there shouldn't be open class, they should have and need to have their own events, but should they be

Hey just something for discussion. Does anyone else feel that since it was common knowledge that all the Open/International class corps were going to compete in the WC prelims, that these corps should have been exposed to the WC sheets sooner. It has to be hard for these kids to see their scores drop 20 plus points over night. Should we just being using one sheet and let the scores fall where they fall? I am in no way saying eliminate the open and international classes. They deserve and need their own events, Just use the same sheets so they can prepare for WC prelims which for most will

just food for thought, since it was common knowledge that open class corps were going to compete in WC prelims, to help them prepare, should they have been exposed to the WC sheets earlier in the season? It has to be hard for those kids to be seeing their scores down 20 plus points over night. Should all corps be on the same sheets now regardless of class and let the scores fall where they fall? I am certainly not saying eliminate the open/international class, still have their own events, just use the WC sheets so that they can better prepare for their WC prelim performance which for most of

just a prediction here, with 41 corps competing and spreads to figure in, there will be a record number of corps break 90 tonight. Also expect some OC corps to knock out some WC that have been stagnate toward the bottom of the pack for the past few years.
-
also don't underestimate some of the open class corps, they may very well pass WC corps that have been stagnate at the bottom of the ranks for years.
-
with 41 corps performing in prelims, and with that many spreads, don't be surprised if we see a record number of corps break 90 on thursday.

An electronics explanation for all the haters
bandman28 replied to Audiophile's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
no just tired of the same old crap everytime you come to drum corps planet, instead of discussing what this corps and that corps are doing with their shows, we are rehashing an issue that has technically been going on since amplified pit in 2004. We don't make the rules, professionals do. I didn't insult any of you, just stating that our administrators need to just delete these topics, 7 years is enough, it is not going to change. -
An electronics explanation for all the haters
bandman28 replied to Audiophile's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
can we please just make a new law prohibiting electronics topics on DCP, although the original post was wonderfully written and i totally agree, it just opened the door for another 50 page grip session for all of those who hate electronics. I marched well before electronics, and if we had those tools, god only knows how much more our show could have been enhanced. My parents used to drive a Yugo, doesn't mean everyone should still be driving yugos, things evolve and grow. -
