Software updates (other than security updates) are a bit of a hassle, given the number of internal customizations we've done to the core code. There won't be any changes to the code foundation until well after the 'season' is over.

Not sure what you mean "automatically updated". Updates to the forums are posted to the database as they are received. If you're suggesting that the forums automatically scroll new content ... that sort of interface is not really feasible for the architecture of the forum. Chat rooms - yes ... threaded discussions - not so much.

Yep - looks like a problem with our Advertising Banner server including references to a "googlecodehosting.net" site, which is tagged as being a known 'malware distributor'. I've taken our Banner server offline until I get it sorted out. UPDATE: The Banner server has been restored to service after the offending references were removed, the system cleared, and scanned for malware.

I've just run a couple of scans on the site and can't find any problem with 'malware' or "dangerous scripts". If you'd like to send me a screen capture / more details - I'll be happy to investigate. support@drumcorpsplanet.com

I'd like to jump in here and offer my THANKS! to Garfield for the yeoman's job he's done in pulling these 990 reports apart and presenting the information in a consistent format and perspective. I think its important that we all have an appreciation for the financial challenges *all* of these organizations face - from the smallest to the largest. What we should also understand is just how dependent our activity is on solid financial leadership within each and every corps. Thank you. That's why we keep the lights on. Sy Syms used to say, "An educated consumer is our best customer". I believe that axiom holds true in most things - not just suits.

MarchingBandPlanet.com died a slow death ... and I finally pulled the plug on it over a year ago, rather than continuing to invest more time and money in keeping the site running. I just never really had the time to focus on both DCP and MBP ... so DCP 'won'. We still own and maintain the domain, which directs visitors here to DCP. I suppose that only time will tell if that was a wise decision.

This issue is addressed in the System Blue Leadership Camps by DCI Hall of Famer Shirley Dorritie. While I wasn't able to attend the afternoon Shirley presented, I heard from those that did that the session was incredible. Here's a little bit about that camp.

Daniel is exactly correct. The political adverts you're seeing are selected by Google, based on your browsing history and geography ... and we have very little control over what they present. For what its worth, I haven't seen a political advert in the Google space in several years. For those that have enabled their 'ad-blocker' for this site and others, you should know that the advertising we run on the site is the ONLY source of revenue we have to fund the operation of the site. I've been very careful to limit the number and location of adverts presented on the site ... and while I can't require that you view and click on the adverts, common sense will tell you that if this continues and grows, the site will no longer exist. Its just as simple as that. Thanks to those that DO click on our banners and support our sponsors and advertisers! -john
