ChiBoyinLA
WWWWWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Absolutely perfect weather. Zero bugs. Gorgeous surroundings. Sight lines were just fine. Did not see a single performer fall due to field conditions (like what would happen in a place where it RAINS) BIG crowd for a Thursday night. Lots of space for the souvie trailers. Bathroom/concession lines were not bad except during the 17-minute intermission (what did you expect?) Tons of parking very close to the stadium (i.e. no hike) Got out of the parking lot in under 10 minutes. No need to fear for one's life driving/walking through surrounding neighborhood. I can't believe what a bunch of crybabies some of you are. Edited August 10, 2007 by ChiBoyinLA
UNCGQ
Did not see a single performer fall due to field conditions (like what would happen in a place where it RAINS) I counted three. But then again I was only watching what the theater feed was. And the field doesn't appear to hold up well at all.
The Nagging Cough!
I can't believe what a bunch of crybabies some of you are. Why? You ain't new here.
ChiBoyinLA
The Rose Bowl is probably the worst DCI Championships venue I have ever been too. You are so far away from the field, and the sound gets washed away before it hits the stands. Just off the top of my head, the Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, Citrus Bowl, Georgia Tech, OLD Mile High Stadium, Legion Field and Pre-rehab Camp Randall were WAY worse, in various respects. BTW, I sat in row 36 part of the time, and row 71 part of the time. Sound was very good in both. My SOLE complaint is that the buzzing stadium lights are somewhat annoying when corps are playing softly.

Galen
Oh yeah, I forgot about the buzzing lights. That was worse than anything else. I'm going to have buzzing on my DVDs and CDs!!!!!! Actually, I'm listening to the APD's right now and there really isn't any buzzing from what I can hear.
BadgerTan
Don't forget the helicopter that kept flying over the stadium.
crfrey71
San Diego could not have DCI Finals this weekend, because the Chargers play on Saturday night there. Edited August 10, 2007 by crfrey71
supersop
Actually, I'm listening to the APD's right now and there really isn't any buzzing from what I can hear. I happy to hear that. Sounds like the sound engineers used directional mics again this year. Less crowd pickup ... more field. Good deal!
leeb
Where was the drum lines and horns?10 minutes away? I was so bummed that I could not watch them warm up. What is UP with that? And yes the lights suck!!!! <**>
