Violence in Phantom's show

I've decided that I agree with the original poster. By all means, let's legislate cinematic violence out of drum corps. Let's remove all responsibility of parents to actually teach their children about right and wrong. Let's let all facets of life be ran by "government" entities, so we can eschew any and all responsibility for anything we do in life forever...

I want books burnt...heaven forbid if my kids actually read some of the nasty, violent books that are out there...like the Bible...or The Wizard of Oz

I want television censored...the coyote and road runner are way too violent.

While we're at it..I don't want to work..I want money given to me so I can sit at my computer and play mmorpg's all day, and surf drum corps forums.

People....quit taking life for granted. Entitlements and legislative political correctness do nothing but bring misery to the masses. Take responsibility for your life, and responsibility for the children you brought into the world. Rights require responsibilities...

Totally Marwan....most fans are mature, but sometimes you wouildn't know that by some of the posts on here. (-:

Of course I know this... the whole thread has been pretty fascinating though.

And re: the (ridiculous) child porn suggestions.... how many girls in PR's guard are under 18 anyway? I would venture to guess that there are very few, if any, "kids" (by the legal definition) in Phantom or most top 6 or so corps. Just sayin'

This post went out of control. I guess '96 BD promoted gangs, and the "Big, Bad, & Blue" BD show promoted blue ba _ _ s.

The youngest member in the entire corps this year is 17. (Can't confirm what section that person or people are in.) So you're correct - we're talking about very few, if any, girls in the guard who are 17 and none that are younger than that.

1990 Freelancers promoted vigilante justice with Batman.

1992 Blue Devils promoted "deviant" sex acts (in at least 37 states) with "When a Man Loves A Woman".

1999 SCV promoted minimalism (which led to techno, which we know is the work of the Devil)

1995 Blue Devils promoted Satanic worship and cult worship of a skull

2006 Cadets promoted mushroom use in "Through the Looking Glass"

2004 Cavaliers supported assassination and international intrigue with "007"

1994 Cavies promoted paganism (as is Pacific Crest this year, the heathens!!!)

1990 Star of Indiana promoted a Judeo-Christian agenda

1991 Star alluded to crucifixion!!!

1991 SCV promoted prostitution in "Miss Saigon"

1992 Star promoted an elated nationalist agenda

1992 SCV obviously promoted a Jewish agenda

1992 VK promoted a non-communist agenda (how DARE they be political???)

1993 Cadets promote war

1993 BD encourage eating Strawberry Soup (as did Madison)

1994 Cadets were all about that Tony and Maria gang warfare thing

1994 SCV was obvious Russian, and therefore COMMIES!!!!

1995 Cavies promoted planet worship via themes that relate to the Greco-Roman gods

1996 Phantom promoted defiance

1996 Madison promoted egotism (A Drum Corps Fan's Dream indeed!!!)

1999 Crown dealt with mental illness

2000 BD promoted madness

2001 SCV promoted a "New Era", obviously a New Age-ist agenda

So...maybe everyone needs to support a Spartacus-like boycott and rebellion against DCI....

Who's with me???

Goodness. If we're going to be worried about child porn, at least the Phantom girls aren't showing more than the average high school cheerleading outfit.

Compare that to the skin-tight white pants of the Blue Knights guard this year. They were a parental nightmare, and fetishist's DREAM.

calm down bruce banner.

i just found it funny that some 9-12 year old kids actively desire to watch torture, and also be completely serious about it.

just seems out of character to me, that's all. no need to pull out the torches.

No worries. Just letting you know.

Gee, how did I miss that? Oh, right. I was watching the corps.

In Vista tonite, in Phantom's show I counted 3 deaths. 1 murder by a sword. 1 colorguard member has her throat slashed by the drum major. And a death (murder?) in the middle of the horn circle. This is for real, I'm not kidding. Does this bother anyone?

If this is all you have to worry about in life, I'd love to have your life.
