The Tsar
Am I the only person who was underwhelmed by PR tonight? They looked really tired . . . I think we tend to see what we want to see in a corps' performance. Some people see weakness in BD's program, some see an unstoppable championship show. Some people see boring in Cavaliers' music program, some see more musical demand than PR. Some people see tired in Regiment's performance, some see the best performance tonight. To quote Rush... All puffed up with vanity, we see what we want to see To the beautiful and the wise, the mirror always lies. (Is there some kind of Godwin's law concerning quoting Rush?) saxfreq1128
I disagree Matt, thought they were good, just looked a little burnt out. Agreed. PR looked tired and was lacking in energy, IMO. SCV was still dirty. But I'm warming up to the ending -- reminds me a lot of SCV 97. BD was having an off night -- but that guard was on fire. Cavs . . . something was missing. But not a bad performance by any means. After scores I'll double back and watch the others, but these are my impressions for now.

leeb
Emotionally the ranking for me: Phantom, then SCV the Cavies, BD, MS, BK, Troop, Man.
pags
I see it:Cavaliers - really liked their show BD - talent carries them, uninteresting show Phantom - spacing errors holding them back, do they run all the time or what? SCV - just so much dirt, difficult dirt, end of show is so agonizingly slow. Blue Knights - middle tier three Troopers - better than I was expecting (didn't see all of them) Madison - odd looking uniform uniform, new Madison style/look, dirty horns and drill Mandarin - not enough people. While I respect everyone's right to have a different opinion, I cannot help but feel that a big part of your opinion was caused by bad camerawork. I thought the On-Demand videos from Walnut and Stanford were MUCH better. The attempt to do all the multi-angle work failed, IMHO, because they missed all the good drill moves by focusing too long on one thing at a time and being too close to it to encompass the larger picture. It KILLED my enjoyment of the show that I got from watching the other videos.
