Not officially speaking for the corps: but as an alumni, to respond to this and to someone's comment about this becoming a bloodbath, Regiment has had closed finals week rehearsals most years since 1987. I think it is smart. Family and friends are allowed to see members at judicial times. Though family, friends, and fans are extremely important, doesn't the journey from audition camp to finals need to be focused primarily on it constructed purpose?

Also love the added drama it gives to there being an additional ending change since Allentown. Whether it happens or not, the additional anticipation should aid the electricity of the stadium on Thursday.

If Phantom marches "naked as jaybirds" it would certainly aid the staging of the "orgy of .....death" that was suggested.

(What were you thinking? )

I'm surprised that the BoD thought black was a mistake.

I think they realized how black makes the corps look small. That, and they kind of blended into the field with black.

That infamous part of the 91 show? (Paging Tsar Nikk....Nikk Pilato to the white courtesy phone!)

I could imagine shipping all black uniforms as possible. Or even driving over the uniforms from Rockford.

However the only problems would be the finances. Unless the corps planned to bring black unis from the start and added the extra costs to the tuition, then money could be a hindrance. Otherwise the corps would be paying for extra uniforms to be made for the members that don't' fit already existing uniforms and such.

i guess i didnt think about shipping them. thanks for answering seriously btw.

ok for the 2nd part, ive always was led to believe that the reason corps could change unis like that is because they got the new ones from the manufacturer ie stanbury, for free. is this true? if not do they get some kind of discount?

i realize that some small brass ensembles, synergy brass that i know for sure, get their instruments for free and mouthpieces free, but then they also are salespeople for that product. and then trying to give 150 uniforms free would be a bit expensive especially if they changed them every year, but its advertising right?

While I have to agree that Black uniforms are not going to happen, with new uniforms costing in the range of 6 digits or close to. However maybe the cape will make a comeback from the 80's show. Just a thought.
