sydstranda
So I've heard that Southwind, Capital Sound, and Capital Regiment will be back -- am I correct about that? What about Magic of Orlando? Anybody know of any other announcements? Any corps taking a year off? I seems like we should have several more corps in World Class next year. Yay! NW Guardmom
The Cascades have said that they will be back next year.

Cascades and Capital Regiment have announced plans for their return in 2009. Cap Sound I haven't heard anything about (plus, they'd still be in Open Class). As far as anyone knows, Magic is dead. Spartans and Jersey Surf are suppose to move up from Open Class.

I would believe Surf will move up, but after the upheaval this year at Spartans I would be surprised to see them move up.
barigirl78
I certainly hope that we get more corps than 20. I think that World Class is at the minimum number of corps that can sustain the number of competitions we now have without there being a ridiculously low number of corps per competition. 24 Corps competing in World Class seems like a better number than 20. Quarterfinals woud also make more sense. (back in 1978, over 40 corps competed in prelims for the top class of corps)
MN DCI Fan
Wasn't the word that Teal Sound was looking to move up, too? I don't know if that's planned for 2009 or not.

I heard a person working at their souvenir trailer saying they were moving up next year.
MikeN
Surf is moving up, and honestly, I wish Teal Sound could - their show just "felt" like a World Class show. Mike
