What's your favorite on field hype?

I would say the best one would be the center snare for Hutch in 1988 after My Favorite Things. Dude almost lost his Shako!

I still love watching that... the perfect example of what's right with drum corps! Good stuff.

that would be mickey hartzog

The best on-field "Hype" ever can be heard on the 1978 DCI Finals recording of the Bridgemen, in the middle of Brandt Crocker's intro ...

That reminds me, I saw on the 2008 DVDs that one of the snare players shakos did actually fall off at the end of the show, but I don't remember what corps it was. I think it was glassmen?

EDIT: Yes it was the glassmen.

Not sure if this qualifies as a "hype" but...

I've read on DCP a while ago that the 88 Scouts Cymbal Line shouted "#### YEAH!" at the very end of the show after the cutoff. They're definitely doing something at the end of the show, but not sure if "#### YEAH" is actually shouted. Anyone from the 88 Scouts want to confirm/disprove it?

Either way, that one gets my vote.

Similar idea in Magic '95's show. Drum line plays the final lick of their solo. During two beats of silence, at least some of the line (actual members can confirm this better than I) yell "WHAT THE", then one final full percussion section crash before the rest of the corps comes back in. I leave it to your imagination to fill in what would have been said under the crash.
