Sorry. I'm a music major, not a detect-sarcasm-over-an-internet-message-board major.

...My favorite example is the 1992 Crossmen. Thier show was winding down nice and soft,

they had just really hit a "Grand Slam" with that performance and were really creating a phenomenally beautiful moment and then someone starts screaming just before the last note...

I used to be annoyed by that moment, but now I actually like it. I listen to 92 Crossmen probably 2 times a week. That yell is from caption head Mark Thurston who is screaming at the top of his lungs "CROSSMEN DRUM LIIIIIIIINE!" I've read a few posts about that year and that yell is full of love. Makes me smile every time.

You have been misinformed.

Wow...

that is actually saddening to me...

Don't be sad. That was NOT Mark.

You have been misinformed.

Hm. I'll go back and see if I can find the threads in the historical section. Maybe I'm misremembering what I read. But I still like it. (and the show still rocks, of course)

One of my favorites was in '85 during Suncoast Sound's show when someone yelled "Take us to the beach Suncoast" just before they played "Beach Frolic".

I've been trying to find the location of the information about who yells "Crossmen drumline" in the 92 show and I've failed to find it. I read it a long time ago and I'm certainly not going to argue that some post by someone I don't know from at least a year ago is absolutely correct. It IS the internet, ya know. So I happily retract my assertion that Mark Thurston is the one who yells.

I still like the yell, though.

Here's a good one: you can hear Freddy Martin yelling something like "way to go, Lynne" during Spirit's 1982 finals recordings, between songs. It was actually a cue to the drum major to start the next song.
