Matt_S
Has the drum corps community really lost faith in SCV???ALmost all of these posts have them in 6-8th place, just wondering why their pulling them so low. This could be the year for them to show everyone what SCV really is, and they're back at the top tier of competition Which is the real SCV? I'd argue that it's actually the 4-7th place corps that we're seeing right now. Since Phantom of the Opera in 1989, that's where they've consistently placed, with the exception being a handful of years around their title in 1999. This could be the year for them to show everyone what SCV really is, and they're back at the top tier of competition I wouldn't take it too seriously. I put them in 6th, but not for any particular reason. I think you're right. They could move back up into the top 3 or 4, but there's ALOT of competition in the top 6-8. we'll have to wait and see. fsubone
While 4th to 6th may be the real SCV... I wouldn't pull them down to another 7th or even 8th. In 36 years of DCI, they've been below 6th only 5 times... Maybe it's about time for them to bring it back, and bring another run on the title, a la late 90s... choposaurus rex
1. Cavaliers2. Blue Devils 3. Holy Name Garfield Cadets of BC. (they should try to think of a longer title of their show, to make this score announcement as excessive as possible) 4. Phantom Regiment 5. Bluecoats 6. Santa Clara Vanguard 7. Carolina Crown 8. Madison Scouts 9. Blue Stars 10. Colts 11. Troopers. 12. Jersey Surf More of a wishlist then a prediction... Finally someone with Surf in finals where they should be! Here's mine: 1) Cadets 2) Phantom 3) BD 4) Cavies 5) SCV 6) Bluecoats 7) Boston Crusaders 8) Carolina Crown (they will be the fan favorite though) 9) Glassmen 10) Blue Knights 11) Spirit of Jacksonville University 12) Jersey Surf

I like the direction they were going with musically this past year...it was more like the corps that I loved 97-00. Not so much with this year's music choice. I'm just hoping they have a cleanable visual show this year.

Aussiehatswithfeathers
way to lose any credibilty .........Pioneer in semi - finals? I meant as in if they have a great year and i know i know it sounds silly but Pioneer has tradition and i love that Also i fully agree with Bruckner8, its not always about playing the right show sometimes its about being true to who you are and thats what excellence is in my opinion

This activity is about creating effect and performing at a high level. Pioneer needs to work on doing both in order to get out of the basement.
