Lance
1999 Cadets used almost Identical music from their western show... i think that was 1995? They just changed it from a round up to a busy street life. Great Show by the way... It was '96. The piece you're thinking of that they used in 99 that sounds like 96 is De Meij's 2nd Symphony, The Big Apple. I've seen Cadets people insist that they didn't take music from 96 for 99. MikeN
Listen to the original Niagara Falls and you'll hear what was probably the basis for the 3rd Corner theme in Four Corners. If I remember right, 2001 was based (in loose terms) on Danza de los Duendes, Bacchnalia (Rolf Rudin) and Bizarro (Michael Daugherty). Mike (And though it's uncredited anywhere, their 2000 ballad was Soundings by Cindy McTee.)

My high School Director marched their 99 show and he said the orginal score they were given for the piece had 1996 for the year arranged. Thats the only info I have though
fsubone
Wasn't that the point of their show though? Don't know if that was their point. Just noticed that some of the parts were the same as the previous couple of years
loopin' froot loops
A little birdy told me that crown might be quoting something from last year's show.. but I'm not gonna say what

jplattSCV
I think SCV, Cadets, and Devs will be quoting some previous year music this year. 2000 Devils quoted SCV's Lezghinka during their intro. It was way down underneath on a vibraphone. I never heard it until I got the State of the Art II CD and the mix allowed me to hear all the little subtle things from that show. I absolutely love that show and thought that little tribute was cool. At least I hope it was a tribute ;)

I wasn't sure why they did it, all I knew was that I liked it...
JamMan
Whatever song BD played in the early part of this decade that was dotted quarter, dotted quarter, quarter, quarter. Also, Cavies reused a lot of stuff (percussion and brass), in their 2000-2006 victory streak. Obviously, The Cadets used some similar stuff 05-06. Madison used the same ending in the drumline for awhile (just pounding half-notes over a sustained chord). Phantom had a chord in their ending in 06 or 07 that was also at the end of 03. NR_Ohiobando
Blue Devils 07's "Ode to Joy" lick at the very end of the show is unbelievably cool to me. If there was ever a "perfect" quote moment, it would be that. BD's 02 show had an insane pit lick directly quoted from their 93 show. I think it was during the 2nd tune, "Fascinating Rhythm/I've got Rhythm".
