contrajedi8
1) 1995- everything since this year is a letdown in comparison 2) 1975- epic win 3) 1997- maybe my fav 4) 1992- i feel this show is too-often overlooked 5) 1999- yes I can't put 1988 on this list because I feel this show, while good, is a bit over-rated. Nothing after 1999 belongs on any list.

Tupac
1971 Wizard of Oz show. It drove all of the old VFW judges nutz.
wvu80
You guys are overlooking a tremendous third place show that came within 1.5 of winning it all. The 1981 Madison Scouts had everything and no known weaknesses. Great horns, great drums, great music, it was a classic power corps of that era that just rocked the house. Numero Uno * Malaguena * Down Wind * Through the Eyes of Love.
MJN
hmmmm some great shows a few of my favorites 1981 (love the solos before Malaguena) 1983 my standard for Strawberry Soup 1986 hornline with balls 1995 emotion/great drumline/hornline (recordings don't do this show justice) 2001 my favorite horn ending to a show favorite percussion feature - 2000 overlooked - 1985 show, & 2002 drumline
bananaboyz
1997 - The Pirates of Lake Mendota - one of the first times they took the jazzy sound and applied it to a whole show of not-so-jazzy music. And it just worked. Awesomely. Mike I am torn because they always put on a great show. The Carmen show was great but tweeked by the first time they played malguena? was that 88?
