wvu80
As great as some of these 3rd place shows were, many of them would never have won the championship, like the great 1980 Bridgemen. Great drums and loud horns, but shall we say the horn line was "edgy"? The 1992 Star of Indiana had a monster horn line and one of my favorite shows of all time, the American Variations show. That show could have won, and only missed winning by .5 2004 SCV? I think not. They got drubbed by 2 full points for the championship, and were a point and a half away from 2nd place. A great show, but it had NO chance of winning. That 2006 BD Godfather show only missed winning finals by .7, and there were many in the stands on finals night who thought they DID win. The 1988 Blue Devils were undefeated all year until finals week, and IMO not only should have been champions that year, but should be in the discussion for having the best drum corps show ever. I'm not the judges, but I guess in this poll, my vote does count. 1988 Blue Devils Edited April 19, 2009 by wvu80

DanjrusMcRynky
97 scv hm to 04 scv, but 97 has a power, emotion, and showmanship that put it over the top.
Lance
The list of 3rd placing shows has more of my favorites than the ones for 2nd and 1st place. Weird.

Captncontra
Tough between 88 BD, 93 Phantom, 97 SCV, 04 SCV and 05 Phantom... 93 Phantom. Purely based on the # of times I've listened to it (followed very closely by 88 BD).
