Geoff
Yikes is right. There was a group of 5 of us here that were planning on going. We've now decided to just hang out in the lot. It's not the same, but much cheaper.

CrunchyTenor
I just checked out the ticket prices for this event. $25 for the worst seats, $40 and $60 for premium seats??? Are they for real? For 5 corps? This show is dead in the water if they expect to sell tickets at those prices. A couple of observations: 1) The promoters need to insure this show. The last time someone wanted to hold a show here, they lost the venue to a more lucrative client, and I believe that was at Sam Boyd Stadium, too. 2) Really, really. really rethink these prices. Some examples... Show of Shows, Rockford, IL Eight corps (7 WC; 1 OC): Phantom Regiment - Rockford, IL Blue Stars - LaCrosse, WI Bluecoats - Canton, OH The Cavaliers - Rosemont, IL Madison Scouts - Madison, WI Pioneer - Milwaukee, WI Racine Scouts - Racine, WI Spirit - Jacksonville, AL Value - $15 Reserved - $20 Premium - $25 VIP (includes lots of extras) - $55 --------------------------------------------- Drum Beauty, Stillwater, MN Eleven corps (6 WC; 2 OC; 3 DCA): Blue Stars - La Crosse, WI The Cavaliers - Rosemont, IL Chops, Inc. - Minneapolis, MN Colt Cadets - Dubuque, IA Govenaires - St. Peter, MN Madison Scouts - Madison, WI Minnesota Brass, Inc. - St. Paul, MN Phantom Regiment - Rockford, IL Pioneer - Milwaukee, WI Racine Scouts - Racine, WI Spirit - Jacksonville, AL General Admission - $5 Reserved - $15 Preferred - $21 VIP Club - $28 Seriously, get real if you want to draw a decent crowd to your first show. Garry in Vegas...but staying home (or more likely working) for those prices!
Geoff
Yeah, we've decided to save our money on this one, and take a road trip to either Ogden, UT or Denver. Much better bang for the buck, and we get to make a whole trip out of it.
ouooga
Agreed with Geoff. Possibly the lot, but the prices do not justify five corps. Maybe we could organize a few meetups at some rehearsal sites though...

MikeN
I'm unashamedly promoting a DCP banner ad, sure, but - http://www.drumsalongthestrip.com/ (or click the banner ad at the top of the page) featuring BD, Bluecoats, Academy, VK and Impulse, is using not only a runoff at the end of the top 2 corps, who will perform again, but is using audience text messages to vote for the champion. Details here - http://www.drumsalongthestrip.com/Judging.html What do you think? I say for a single show it's a great idea - definitely something different and new for a single show, maybe even <*gasp*> innovative for us in drum corps. hrnguy500
That is different and pretty interesting. I'd like to see how it turns out and who everyone votes for.
