LancerLegend
I wonder if there will be any side bets at the Hilton?
Piper
There are a lot of public myths when it comes to Vegas, mostly due to media advertising. For example, prostitution is NOT legal. The cops bust hookers for a hobby out there. The first time they get busted they have to take a blood test for HIV. If it comes back positive and they get caught again it's 10 years in the slammer. The strip is only about 2% of Vegas anyway.
JOHNNY_A
Hmmm, I wonder if the casinos will give odds on this show
Schickmeister
I put the BD spread at 4 points with the over under at 0.95. PS...this is AWESOME.
boxingfred
MY NEW FAVORITE SHOW! I can watch boxing on Friday and drum corps on Saturday!
EndzoneEric
I like it when junior corps do something outside of the borders of DCI. It needs to happen more often. Just a parade is not enough. I feel like the full potential of drum corps is not even explored because everything is so strict around the DCI schedule. What you say makes little sense to me, since the DCI schedule is determined by the corps directors themselves. Once again, it's a case of people confusing DCI for some nondescript office in the middle of nowhere, dictating how things will be. In reality, DCI is nothing more than a marketing company, based in Indianapolis, with a head honcho directly accountable to the corps directors and a few other guys. 84BDsop
You're on! And I can just take a cab home if the first round turns into more!Garry IN Vegas POST SHOW PARTY AT GARRY'S HOUSE!! *oh yeah....Jan'll LOVE that!* Find it kinda amusing the production company's name is "Danny Boy Productions" and it's made up of BD and SCV vets....you'd think there's be ONE guy from 27th in there! kickhaltsforlife
What I was saying was it seems directors feel like they have to follow the DCI schedule, and that only. You rarely here a DCI Member Corps doing something outside of DCI except for a parade on the 4th of July. Or they run their own educational camps. There are so many other performing opportunities and I feel it's not taken advantage of. The Crossmen performed at the Kennedy Center this past summer. That was cool to hear about, that's the only thing off the top of my head I can think about though. We need to get corps out there. Maybe sacrifice a rehearsal day and do a concert somewhere! I didn't blame DCI at all in my post... just said that corps work so strictly around that schedule, because they feel that the more shows they do it's an advantage. Whiskey
Hmmm, I wonder if the casinos will give odds on this show I wonder if a casino would be willing to do this? I'd be very interested in gambling on drum corps.

The strip is only about 2% of Vegas anyway. You are correct. Prostitution is not legal in Clark County, where Las Vegas is located... It is legal in Nye County, which is the next county over ( Pahrump ) and maybe 40 minutes away. You are almost accosted when you walk down the strip with these gross peddlers handing out pictures of naked women... I very rarely go on the strip. The neighborhood casinos are more fun anyway... I usually go to the casinos for their other offerings such as food & movies... There's much more to do in Las Vegas than those two things. A drum corps show would be very welcomed there!
