Vegas Fan
Fantastic year. Great innovative shows that pushed the realms of what is capable out of a drum corps. Or just were good ol Classic shows that were fun!! (And loud)
contrajedi8
Boston SCV Blue Devils winning and Crown fans just not being able to wrap their heads around the fact that they aren't in the same league as BD yet. Crowns show being massively overrated. Phantom's meteoric-like fall from the top. They won with a sub-par visual program in 2008. In 2009, it bit them in the ###. I actually enjoyed a BK show. The overdone, band-in-a-box cliche machine that was Blue Stars. Troopers making the top 12 again. The general annoyance that was what I will refer to as the POW! syndrome. Pioneer beating someone. Fairly mediocre year in drum corps I thought.

Gorgo
What I will carry to my grave with me about 2009. . . My first 3-day stay during finals week, catching World Class in its entirety and Open Class from semis on. Each evening I saw and heard Vanguard, I was moved to tears - by far my favorite show of the bunch. Phantom 2009 had such a tough act to follow from 2008. I'm not terribly surprised by their "letdown" in placement, even though I was thoroughly entertained by their show this year. Troopers back in finals for the first time in what, 23 years? That was a thrill to see, giving me goosebumps when they entered the field on Saturday, with sincere apologies to the Colts and their fans who have some valid (IMHO) arguments for also deserving to be there. The first Cadets show in years that I could wrap my head and heart around. Crown impresses me more and more each year - they were abso-tively superb! And very deserving of their highest placement in history plus the Jim Ott. The Missus has problems with what she calls "gimmicky" shows, especially those with an abundance (or over-abundance in her words) of props. So, with further apologies to Blue Stars, she didn't go for the Factory. I liked the show - she did not. A very solid lineup of shows all the way around from top to bottom. Getting the opportunity to connect with a number of my DCP friends. BD - crazy clean, killer guard, interesting show concept and nearly flawless execution. They captured my imagination and made me proud to be a fan of the activity. But OMG, SCV and the Ballet for Martha. 'Nuff said.

TheClutch
Getting a Standing Ovation at the Allentown, PA show. The show vets from all corps but the cadets and crossmen warn rookies about.
skewerz
1. I enjoyed the Cadets for the first time in 5 years. 2. Who played the best jazz of the year? BD? Bloo? X-men? Madison? nope...was Phantom. 3. Mandarins and Surf pleasantly surprised me. 4. Was disappointed again in Cavies and BD. Clean? yes..very. Exciting? not so much... 5. SCV company front...WOOHOO!!! tommyfromhowardst
I am going to remember sitting in a chair at a sewing machine while climbing a mountain and slapping people with red violins. I am going to remember a Blue Star won i/e snare for the first time. (FCO!!) I am going to remember how quiet Indy really is. I am going to remember the MD&BC. I will forget all the bad stuff. 2000Cadet
I'm gonna remember how a Cadets' show for the first time was not ragged upon on this site as much as others. ....going to finals live in LOS... ....really liking SCV's show on video, but how much I was bored with it live... ....Crown with their highest placement ever and how competitive they and Cadets were... ....the fight I had in a club in Chicago a few hours after finals. perc2100
What do/will you remember most? *Crown placing second, becoming the highest placing corps in over 15 years not named BD, Cadets, Cavaliers, SCV or Phantom Regiment *one of the best seasons of percussion sections, Top-Bottom of Finals, that I can remember.
