CitBos
Do you mean his estate? Ellis died around 1978 or so. Well, I more meant the use of his songs.
NR_Ohiobando
Bumping this because I want to know how protective the Ellis estate is of their music. I know there are a lot of arrangements in DCI (some even as recent as 07), but as we see with Phantom Regiment and Troopers sometimes the music gets played and not legally recorded. With all the recent rule changes I don't see why his music wouldn't be on top of every drum corps' wish list.
Lance
I would love to see what could be done with "Chain Reaction". Just marching in 13/8 would be insane. BD 93 did a little bit of it.
bluecoats88
just as a side note Prime is no longer the Brass arranger for Madison (Robert W. Smith is)
mingusmonk
just as a side note Prime is no longer the Brass arranger for Madison (Robert W. Smith is) Well, if RWS arranged Suncoasts fantastic '86 Adventures In Time charts, I'd give him shot an Ellis any day of the week. Kamarag
I'd love to see a top-level corps tackle Future Feature. It's got the Blue Devils written all over it, especially given BD's virtuoso soloists.
tommytimp
I'd love to see somebody do something with the music from The French Connection. Seriously underrated score from a masterpiece movie. The best "bad mood" movie ever made, maybe.
