OldStyleCorps
There was, East Coast Jazz and now the Citations going inactive. Spartans(N.H.) , were inactive - Now going back to "Active" DCI Open class. Boston Crusaders, a Top 12 DCI WC group. Mass Brass, a Top Mini group. Pembroke Imperials, Parade and Exhibition Corps. Manchester,NH Machachoes, another GOOD Parade/Exibition/mini group. Boston Sr Crusaders, Exhibition Corps (alumni type) St. Kevin Emerald Knights Corps. (alumni type) and MORE !!! I just can not understand why there is NOT a competing, at least a Class A group, in DCA. Even if they had a limited Schedule. (Just Boston area, Conn. N.J. and Kingston, NY) then just DCA Championships. A lot of talent up there for sure. Edited December 22, 2009 by OldStyleCorps

skybusmgr
Sky is in the mid-Hudson Valley of NY now, and we will continue to recruit from these areas you mention, among others, and plan to compete in class A this year. Everyone is welcome to come up, down, over to the next rehearsal. We will be posting the updated schedule for January soon. We will establish carpools/shuttles from these areas as necessary so you can reduce the cost of your hobby. Happy Holidays! That usually translates to "sorry, but I'm too old, or too involved with my family, or too tied up in my career, etc., etc." Alumni corps exist for a purpose - generally for those who, for whatever reason, are not interested in a competitive commitment. I absolutely agree that there's a ton of talent in that Eastern Mass area, but it's equally clear that there isn't the level of interest for a competition corps. Well, historically speaking, the only DCA corps to come out of MA were the Princemen, New Bedford Whalers and the Renegades (yes, there was one in 72) ... from RI you had the Matadors and Generations ... so ... there has not been much interest through the years in fielding a DCA corps from MA ... however, there now seems to be a VERY active movement in Alumni and Mini Corps from the area ... :-) Edited December 23, 2009 by ajlisko
Grumpy
Forgot the Defenders Alumni. Also Light Brigade, who were active up until a year or so ago; and I just saw an announcement a couple weeks ago of a new all age corps starting up in Plymouth, MA

And don't forget the Holy Rosary Caballeros from Providence.
