Fran Haring
St. Rita's Brassmen, early 1970s through their final year in 1973. A corps whose shows were ahead of their time, IMO. A style all their own. Fran

wvu80
The Knights of Geneseo IL. I think a good argument could be made that the Knights could have been finalists for two years. Agreed. They were great, one of my all-time non top-12 corps. I would also point out another power corps that at the time was said to be "the next Spirit of Atlanta"; the Memphis Blues Brass Band. bluecoats88
I remember L'insolite in either 89 or 90 when they did this huge checkerboard on the field with flags and on person was on top of the board throwing rifles to guard members coming out from under the board. That was cool and made me give em a yell or two.

I know their placements at DCI weren't very high but boy did alot of great horn players come out of that corps and very entertaining. Another product from the legendary Skyliner Bucky Swan. ruag8tr2
I remember that awesome hornline from BAC in 1979. I was marching with the Long Island Kingsmen and we were scoring pretty close to them throughout the year. I remember being within 4 or 5 points of them and wondering how we werent closing in on them strictly based on their size. Then I saw them in Alabama and holy cow. I knew they would beat us. They were a small package but they had some serious power. And yes. They definitely had 25 horns.
