Swine
Is there any available audio or visual of their pre-show warmup? They moved to "Fanfare For the Common Man" (which is part of Copland's Third Symphony, their entire show). Ya don't know until ya ask. Hey, I found a recording of SCV's 1989 warmup, "Point of No Return," (the best part of that show) so there's hope. garfield
There were TWO corps from Garfield that year ? Cafets ? No, one was a deli, the other was a cafet. Great pastrami at Garfield's deli. (Yes, I know it's spelled cafe. It's a joke. )

( her uncle use to video tape all the drum corps shows he went to. From the 60's to early 90's )Ones from the US Open I think and the other from a Pre finals run through. There maybe more. So many tapes. Edited February 6, 2010 by boxingfred

84BDsop
Possibly the most UNDERrated show in Cadets' DCI history...'course, when you're up against Mad, BD, SCV, VK, Suncoast, and Sky Ryders in that year, it's easy to be underrated! I thought it was a good show...although i WISH they'd put in the "Fanfare for the Common Man" sequence where the key changes throughout the phrase... I know the PBS broadcast that year showed part of it--you couldn't hear much of the audio with the commentary over the top of it, though. I was sorely disappointed that DCI didn't include the warm-up in the Legacy DVD. By the by, Phantom also had a great moving warm-up for their 1979 show which was also not included on the DVD. chris ncsu
Great musical performance, though the material wasn't particularly engaging.

Now, i can see mentioning Mad, BD and SCV,.................. but VK, Suncoast and especially Sky Ryders? Yah, Sky Ryders were a real threat to Garfield w/a lame version of -The sound of Music- of all shows.
