DCPI XIV Season Discussion

Recommended Posts

Daily Digest for 6/30:

Just 2 shows as we approach the end of the month, and both are home shows to boot.

Oregon Llama Vanguard hosts the Salem OR show at McCullough Stadium, to break it in for the DCI corps. As an added bonus, the awning is rated 5 stars against sunlight (up to 80 SPF), rain, fog and mosquitoes.

And Altoona Ambassadors, a new corps to the circuit, invite the eastern corps into their own backyard, hosting at the recently refurbished (and re-turfed) Mansion Park Stadium:

Because I have nothing better to do at 1 in the morning, here's the last Daily Digest for the month of June:

DCPI heads north of the border for the first time this season with a stop at famed Seagram Stadium in the Kitchener-Waterloo area of Ontario. This place has hosted some great events, both real and fantasy, in the past.

Additionally, down south sees corps venturing to Ocean Springs MS, on the Gulf Coast. City workers have bee working around the clock to clean oil slicks off the stadium's turf field, and everything is now ready to go!

I know that the members of Feenicks and INT are all ready to beat everyone! (And not just in scores... )

And INT promise not to be everyone's "hot dog corps" for this season, either.

o ya what happen altoona,pa buffalo sound and every one kick your buts all over pa

A quote from the center snare of INT: "Just you wait till I get you guys alone".

The FC United crew is pretty satisfied with where we are so far. LWC has won a show or two and Providence and Kadence are sticking around near the top of the heap at each show they've competed in. We've developed more of a "sit and wait, then make the big move at the end" mentality over the last few seasons.

But that may be changing

In a purely "anti-smack" comment our corps started the season well enough (one or 2 wins) but recent performances have not been up to standards. If improvements are not seen this weekend there is going to be some serious staff butt kicking!

Really tough to judge corps progress by the volatile early-season scoring, but we've been pleased so far. Plenty of show rewrites coming up though!

The first two weeks of shows were pretty rough for everyone at HMO. Fortunately, we've been seeing a great deal of improvement in these last few days and we hope to see more of the same as the season continues on.

Our very young corps has had a pretty rough showing so far, but have seen massive improvements across the board. Still have plenty of work to do, but they've responded well to the schedule. Not bad for a bunch of farmer and fisherman's kids, not bad at all! If you pass through Butte Des Morts, stop by for our Fish Fry! Perch, walleye, trout, bluegill - all caught and prepared by the kids. Mmmmmm! Mighty tasty stuff!

Dita (Capt of the Guard) misses the wolves terribly but loves the new cannons! She gets this look of indescribable pleasure when she's ready to light the fuses...
