Greenteaisgood
Actually, not to be a buzz kill, but Phantom came in to the 2008 championship having had the highest score the weekend before at Allentown. Nope, Cavaliers had the highest score the week before at Allentown.

Northern Thunder
Actually, not to be a buzz kill, but Phantom came in to the 2008 championship having had the highest score the weekend before at Allentown. The very last night of the regular season in 2008 (August 4), BD scored 96.15 in Massillon, OH, while Phantom had a 96.00 in Toledo.

ouooga
Just throwing it out there, but in 2008 the first (and only up until Saturday night) chink in BD's undefeated armor came at TONIGHT'S show!
Tupac
I pretty sure that BD was also undefeated going into championship week in 1988 and lost to Madison that year.
oldbandguy
Nope, Cavaliers had the highest score the week before at Allentown. Yep...think you're right. Phantom was NOT the high score in 2008 after Allentown, but the point still holds that neither was BD...so if BD comes out of Allentown with a big lead (2+) it would be considered a huge collapse if they did not win the championship. Lance
I pretty sure that BD was also undefeated going into championship week in 1988 and lost to Madison that year. In 95, they had been undefeated for nearly 2 years...until finals week.
EllmerFUDD
I don't blame the Blue Devils for having such a commanding lead - that's silly. They're doing what they do, and it happens to be better than everyone else. (Except for Music GE, but that's a different story.) Once other corps start doing that *they* do as well, then it'll be a closer contest. I wish it were closer, but you can hardly fault BD for that. What, we should tell them "play worse, so the scores will be closer?" Mike Read the OP....THIS IS NOT A BD THING
