MelloNell
1. Madison - Loved the goose bumps. Have missed those in drums corps for several years. 2. Phantom - Can't explain it, but I loved this show. 3. Crown - Wow, very entertaining the whole way through. 4. Cavies - This one grew on me. 5. Cadets - Thought it was a great show. 6. Blue Knights - Great show and loved the painted flags again. 7. SCV - Some parts were OMG WOW and some were omzzzzzz 8. Glassmen - I liked their show this year. 9. Boston - Cool concept Boston has won me over 10. Blue Coats - Only saving grace was that they didn't clutter the field with mirrors, just microphones. 11.Blue Devils - If they would only have played La Suerta instead of running it through the cuisinart. 12. Blue Stars - They didn't make me want to care about their theme. Sorry. That being said, I think that this was a stellar year in DCI for entertainment. Everyone brought something different to the table. Unfortunately BD left the chairs behind so no one could sit down.

WestCoaster
You do realize they are playing into the mics to change the pitch/tone of what's being played not to make it louder right? As a matter of fact I heard at one show the mic for the mellophone solo in the second tune didn't work and the guy just turned towards the audience and increased his volume and played the solo without the electronic manipulations. So they can play loud enough to be heard, but they can't do the effects they are doing to it without using the mics. In a way, that's even worse! Here's my rankings... 1) Blue Devils 2) Santa Clara Vanguard 3) Cadets 4) Blue Stars 5) Boston Crusaders 6) Phantom Regiment 7) Bluecoats 8) Blue Knights 9) Carolina Crown 10) Glassmen 11) Cavaliers 12) Madison Scouts
