skywhopper
1. Blue Stars 2. The Cavaliers 3. Santa Clara Vanguard 4. Madison Scouts 5. Bluecoats 6. Phantom Regiment 7. Boston Crusaders 8. Carolina Crown 9. The Cadets 10. Blue Knights 11. Blue Devils 12. Glassmen Blue Stars music and theme this year are just outstanding, and the Cavaliers sucked me in every time I saw them this year with pure energy. I was a major Crown fanboy coming into this season, but their show hasn't clicked with me, entertainment-wise, despite my love of the music. Maybe it just reminds me of their 2009 show too much without hitting the sweet spot that one did.
swmstom
1. Madison Scouts...... (HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) 2. Blue Stars...... (I like Magic tricks) 3. Phantom.... (Could listen to PR no matter what....plus the invisibile in the tunnell stuff is awesome) 4. Cavies....... (still not sure why they have to have all the Full Metal Jacket quotes, but Ok, whatever. Still enjoyed it for the most part) 5. Blue Knights..... (must say...I'm so used to giving BK a ...but I actually enjoyed the show. For once I knew what they were playing) 6. Cadets....... (if there was an emoticon that expressed so much sweetness and cheez that I felt like I was developing diabetes I would have put it here) 7. Crown...... (was ok...... but the horses and grass were much better) 8. Boston..... (not a memorable show, but not bad) 9. Blue Devils..... (cool visual program....but the music? ehh. You're better than that BD) 10. Glassmen.... (better than some past G-men shows I've suffered through over the years) 11. Santa Clara..... (to the ending that just....well....stops?????) 12. Academy...... (I can dig what they're doing) Edited August 12, 2010 by swmstom
Cardman
1. Madison Scouts 2. Blue Stars 3. Phantom Regiment 4. Santa Clara Vanguard 5. Carolina Crown 6. Cavaliers 7. Cadets 8. Blue coats (that's for you, Michael Boo lol) 9. Blue Knights 10. Academy 11. Boston Crusaders 12. Blue Devils These are just off the top of my head. I didn't really give it the thought that it probably deserves. It's too hard to make this list this year, there are so many great shows! mobrien
Ok, I'll play (keeping in mind that "entertaining" to me means that the show carries some risk, and that I WANT to have to think about it). 1. Cavaliers 2. Vanguard 3. BD (maybe flip 2 and 3 - depends on the performance) 4. Cadets 5. PR 6. Bluecoats 7. Crown 8. Blue Knights 9. Madison (it's ok, but I saw all of this before) 10. Boston ("Conquest" helps) 11. Blue Stars 12. Everyone else. Edited August 12, 2010 by mobrien
J.C.
OK, I'll play, 1) Madison Scouts (Most entertainint show musically in DCI in many years) 2) Cavaliers (Most visually entertaining show this year) 6) Carolina Crown (Love the brass line) 4) Cadets (Would have been my #3 without "Jeff with a G") 5) Phantom Regiment (Love the bookends of this show) 3) Boston Crusaders (Loves me some "Conquest") 7) Bluecoats (Nice) 8) Blue Knights (Like them better than most years) 9) Glassmen (Just OK) 10) Blue Stars (They seem to be striving to become the "Blah Stars". Even the new uni is blah.) 11) Blue Devils (Show is so chopped up I can hardly listen to it) 12) Santa Clara Vanguard (Bartok should be banned in the activity)
shawn craig
1 Madison Scouts 2 Crown 3 Phantom Regiment 4 Blue Knights 5 Cavaliers 6 Cadets 7 Santa Clara Vanguard 8 Blue Stars 9 Boston Crusaders 10 Blue Devils 11 Bluecoats 12 Glassmen I'm solid on my top two choices. I certainly respect the quality of BD and Coats but their shows aren't my thing. Positions 3-7 could easily change depending on my mood at the moment. I really enjoyed all of those shows; they each had different elements and aspects in design that appealed to me and made for a very enjoyable two nights in Allentown. DonJuanDomain
With the help of my 11 year old son, I present our combined list. I figure that entertainment should be cross generational. 1. Madison - Unchallenged hands down fav Tie 2. Crown - Lots of WOW - especially liked the brass horn line 2. Phantom - More WOW - enough said 3. Cadets - expected to not like them at all based on previous years, but they did well. 4. Troopers - What 11 year old couldn't vote for the Troopers 5. Cavies - recognized the songs - but confused at times with their show 6. Blue Devils - 11 year old put these guys at #24. Parental overrule explaining that BD is really wearing clothes only the Emperor can see, but one day, we'll be able to see them too. 7. Teal Sound - Despite dismal scores, these guys used electronics well and my 11 year old kept comparing them to blue man group and Trans Siberian Orchestra. Rest a blur... db
