TomPeashey
I really enjoyed Rochester Cru in '77 & '78! some big sound those years. 1978 - Rochester Crusaders - largest horn line in the history of DCA 76 horns... 26 lead sops alone... and probably the record volume levels... I remember that Corps. I was with the Chicago Connection back then. They had 14 contras with the silkscreen numbers, 1 to 14 on the bells. Unfortunately I coudn't hear them playing which I thought was rather odd. Anyone else remember them?

Thought it was 12 but could be mistaken. We had 4 contras and one retreat three of them had t shirts that read "3 + John = 12". The last ones' shirt read "I'm John". Crus contras came over to get a better look and everyone had a good laugh. Crowd was probably trying to figure out what the Hades was going on. Wow.... had totally forgotten, thanks Rich..... BigW
92 was 6th. and i think you played Steel drums again '92 Westshore...-- A corps not far out of 3rd coming out of Prelims, either, so much potential that was kinda messed up.... I remember H-B and the Gang down there very clearly-- way cool.
BigW
And as for my record-- 5 Finals, 6 Prelims, never lower than 6th at Finals, part of a corps that cracked the top 2 that wasn't one of the old guard, which was a heck of an achievement in '82, and in '84 when we didn't make finals, we kept the corps together and alive, which paid off serious dividends 12 years later. You can look 'em up. I don't wanna say my achievement 'stick' is longer than anyone else's stick or mroe successful than anyone else's. We all have different life paths to reach successes.
