Lance
Lance, you seem shocked! i've been waiting for a corps to do the holdridge piece FOREVER, and hoped it would be phantom. that was enough to make me happy. but as I went down the list, I saw one extraordinary piece after another...and then the last one on the list...just ####### wow. best rep on paper i've ever seen...and i can see how all of it could work with the theme. Lance
beginning of east of eden as a lyrical intro introducing juliet. it's delicate. perfect. break into some pyrotechnics with the verdi some of the rota for the meeting with romeo...or whatever guy they put in. do the whole beginning of elsa's procession as juliet's wedding. that's the ballad. it's the moment almost precisely in the middle of the action of romeo and juliet. add some of the mozart to deal with her conflicting feelings when romeo kills her cousing tybalt right after their weeding (the two main melodic lines from confutatis maledictis, perhaps?) maybe go the prokofiev after that... ....and then combine the bombasitc parts of east of eden with more bombast from the end of elsa's procession for the finale. ...just my thoughts. DrumManTx
Oh. My. God. Elsa's procession is one of my favorite pieces ever, and there is not one other corps that could play it better. I'm really looking forward to this. REALLY. :D
