DCIfan90
Oh yea, I forgot about them for some reason. Def awesome sounding hornline. Definitely. Oh and that opening pit feature in 2007. It's studio quality. About their hornline, there's a part in 2007 where they are so clean I can hear one baritone player barley frack a note. I've always enjoyed their hornlines, but they've gone into the realm of having on of the best sounds around. The blend is amazing, the trumpets are great. The tubas are like butter. Heh... MikeN
Crown's hornline, for sure. Love, love, love them. Boston's drums - to me they just hit the perfect balance of aggression and musicality. And I always love BK's pit. Mike
Lead
Ever since the late 90s (1998!) the Glassmen are consistently VERY loud and typically produce nice quality sound.
ayesha3
PHANTOM'S HORNLINE :) Oh man. Year after year after year it continues to be one of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard in my entire life. Love love LOVE that sound. So beautiful. The Cavaliers' drill. Michael Gaines is a GENIUS! SCV's battery. Always loved it in the past, should be even better this year with Mr.Rennick.
Armyscout
Crown's hornline has a very distinct beautiful full tone that is unparalleled it seems right now. Its the richest most complex sound in competition it seems. However, Madison has another great sound that is very raw and developing as a unique great sound as it historically is. Blake13
All around sound, I'm with Crown and Coats. In my opinion, two of the best hornlines in DCI. Crown has such a great range of musicality while Coats can be super aggressive one year and then come out with a extremely musical show the next year (like 2009). Crown's entire show concepts use brass, pit, and that awesome drumline (one of the most aggressive lines out there) come together so well in every show. Since I'm a drum guy though... Bluecoats and Paul Rennick's lines are hands down the best sounding lines. The way Coats tune their drums are magical. In the same sense, what Rennick does with Dynasty drums is amazing. Plus Rennick's line always have some great beats. Rarick writes some sick stuff for Bluecoats year after year and they are always throwin' down. Cadets' drumline was great until Aungst left, but the past two years I haven't been too impressed. I will say though, I respect every World Class line's ability and I am in no way attacking anyone's playing. I'm commenting strictly on music. I won't judge what I haven't done yet. Hrothgar15
Crown has consistently been the corps that makes me think, this is what a drum corps should sound like. Cadets to an extent as well.
