Northern Thunder
Hawaii Hawaii had a junior corps, Na Koa Alii (The King's Guard) that appeared at marching band contests in the mid-1970s. It was started up by a former Marine Corps Drum & Bugle Corps member.
Stick Stack
Yeah, but they're only Open Class. So then, it doesn't really count?

jjeffeory
^ yeah, it was a shame that Star left the circuit. Blast is/was good, but I think they probably could have kept the drum corps at the same time. What would a drum corps from Utah be called? The Killer Bees! (It's the beehive state....)
jjeffeory
Doesn't Michigan already have a drum corp? Isn't Legends from Kalamazoo? Why yes they do. ...but BoyWonder1911 doesn't think they count because they're in open class and aren't the Blue Stars... hostrauser
Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Missouri are all states with thriving high school music programs that don't current have a World Class corps (nor Open?)

Michael Boo
The odds were pretty good back in the early '60s, when Vegas did have an active senior corps. Las Vegas may be home to more failed attempts to start junior corps than any other major city. Whatever came of that well-publicized effort to start a whole new way in Vegas of experiencing drum corps shows? Am I hallucinating regarding this? I don't remember any more details at the time, but they had a website about it. Bueller?
