MikeD
I see your Danny Boy, and I raise you Malaguena. The version of Scouts 1988 masterpiece might be the only time I can think of where a corps won a championship on the basis of one song. Fans stood and cheered like crazy the last 90 seconds to the point you couldn't hear the corps. I know that has happened at finals with other closers, but that used to happen with Scouts '88 during the regular season. I'd be happy if I NEVER have to hear Malaguena again. MikeD
Whoa, easy there, guys. the thread is what is/are your favorite closer(s), not my favorite is better than your favorite My $.02: SCV's '84 "Promise of Living" and '87 "Great Gate of Kiev." Also enjoyed '84 Garfield's "West Side Story/Quintet" and (though admittedly biased) Dutch Boy '88 "My Way." Peace, Fred O. My choice IS just my choice, not anyone else's ...or Elsa's. skajerk
I'd be happy if I NEVER have to hear Malaguena again. For once, you and I agree on something! (Make that twice since Danny Boy is also one of my favorites). Edited November 20, 2011 by skajerk
