cowtown
I would have had Blue Stars above SCV at finals but with it being .1, it’s really too close to quibble. But I shall…Blue Stars’ show had a lot more effect built in, enough to over come the implied difficulty that wasn’t necessarily achieved by SCV. Within the corps’ context, Blue Stars did achieve more regardless. I'd have dropped SCV score a bit, it looked like about an 89/90 Blue Stars looked like a 91 I think Cavies and Bluecoats were scored fairly, the spread was about right. Cavies visual was on another tier than Bluecoats and they really sold their show at finals. They killed GE visual, had the best drill of the year and yeah, it was a bit dirty but still effective. I was not sold on their show until finals and then a bit less sold on the DVD version. Many people fail to understand that some of the GE at a live show will never show up on the DVD so I don’t think it’s that great of an idea to try and judge from the DVDs anyway. Bluecoats had good show, great guard, nice music, horrible ensemble /pit mixing with just an OK drill that was spiced up with better visuals Bluecoats’ openers for 2010 and 2006 looked very similar to me, check it out
corpsband
BD could do their show backwards I feel this comment is totally incorrect. BD could barely do their show in 2005. It was their worst show of the decade. um...not familiar with the storyline or humor are you? Lol. Apparently not :-)
GeneralTsoChicken
Lol. Apparently not :-) Would have been funnier had he said '03 cavaliers could do their show backwards. harharhar

BRASSO
WHY DIDN'T... I march more years of drum corps? Worst mistake of my life. If thats the worst mistake of your life, you are either very young, or you are friggin good at making life choices.
84BDsop
WHY DIDN'T... I march more years of drum corps? Worst mistake of my life. At least you had a year or more left, Dave. 84 was my rook-out year....so I'd have to ask "WHY didn't I discover drum corps until it was almost too late?" Note the year in his screen name....it was a good life choice. (sorry, Dave....but none of us are really young anymore!)
troon8
Just identify this as a "nostalgic rant", maybe even a present day rant. I believe that as long as this thread doesn't get out of control and people present themselves as adults in the things they post, this can be successful topic (not to mention that people (fans, alumni etc.) can to come to some sort of agreement on some the questions being raised). You're new 'round these here parts, aren't you?
84BDsop
"Why didn't".... DCI take proper care to preserve the video performances of all the top 12 Corps from their 1st two DCI Championships. Unfortunately, as a consequence, that important beginnings of DCI are now lost forever to history. Along that line...."why didn't" the camera crew in the early 80s learn to stay on a suddenly forming company front (84 Garfield) or a spectacular drum trick (one-handed accelerando in 83 BD drum feature)....and WHY did they take SO MANY shots of Jeff Voorhees in BD's 84 pit??? He practically had his own TV contract!! (must've been the porn-stache)

Hi, my name is GeneralTsoChicken---and I'm your worst nightmare. I'm over the top. I'm full of rhetoric. I'm full of hype. I'm full of hate for all corps. I have a reputation for being childish and immature. The chances of you being able to find agreement with me on the questions being raised is almost zero.
