Troopers 2013

Apparently his title is not 'Drill Designer', but 'Visual Designer'.

Can someone tell me what the difference is? Is a Visual Designer just broader in that he directs small details like guard uniforms and bigger details like the drill?

If 27th Lancers and Kilties were still in existence today, they would probably face similar challenges.

Kilties are still in existence, but as an all-age corps competing in DCA (although like several other all-age corps who compete at DCI events, they're listed in DCI's year book as an affiliate group). I've never seen them live, but I've seen the video of their 2010 show, which I enjoyed.

This doesn't take from your main point, but I thought it was worth noting.

Granny, he designs visuals. Isn't it obvious from the name?

noun

6. Usually, visuals.

a. the picture elements, as distinguished from the sound elements, in films, television, etc.

b. photographs, slides, films, charts, or other visual materials, especially as used for illustration or promotion. Compare audio, video.

7. a rough, preliminary sketch of an advertising layout, showing possible arrangements of material. Compare comprehensive ( def. 5 ) .

8. any item or element depending on the sense of sight.

So, he's designing the pictures in our upcoming tour film, illustrations in our next book, roughed out advertising layouts for the home show and things like the color of grass on the field since that depends on our sense of sight. A big task! But maybe he could, just as a favor, go back in time and fix Star's pink uniforms for us dinosaurs.

Judging by what I have read on the pages of DCP, with the new additions to the Troopers staff, I expect them to be very competitive in 2013. I wish the Trooper members and staff all the success in the world for next summer.

I have no idea who would red minus you for that, but apparently they have some issues. Not sure what's wrong with wishing a group success.

*waits for the red minuses*
