RockyGranite
I got as far as "Show Theme Requirements" No.
Popular Post Michael Boo
Show theme requirements. 1. Positive message 2. Love of country 3. Support of the troops 4. Christian values 5. Defending our nation’s children So flag burning would be out? With the rise of moral depravity and values that have been universality rejected becoming embraced by our youth, we must rise up as an activity and battle the demons of political correctness. If you get rid of moral depravity, I'd be out of a job. Our youth are the most venerable to the influence of wickedness. Unless you mean "vulnerable," I like regarding our marchers with reverence and honor. Drum corps has become stagnant. T Man; is that you? We will have educated a large number of youth every summer to live a moral life and spread the word to their non-drum corps peers. Will each corps be awarded bonus point for sending their members to Sunday School? When the word gets out that morally objectionable themed shows will be discouraged, upstanding patriotic families will return to our shows. Well, there goes my idea for a Donner Party production. Audience’s members will no longer have to seek counseling after experiencing shows that challenge their moral compass. The audience can cheer, yell and clap without guilt, when they are expressing support for god and country. Small "g" god...So the audience members can pick their god? What about the Christian values thing? Can someone just stick with the sun god and only go to shows held during the daylight hours? That will affect hot dog sales. Think of the hot dogs. They did nothing to deserve this. Shows can be attended by all ages, and not restricted to those under the age of 18. Are fans over the age of 18 restricted now? There will be the need for an additional judge to monitor the show theme requirements. The scoring system will have to be changed to address the changes needed to implement this new rule. What's Phyllis Schlafly been doing lately? Perhaps she's available.
Crown Phan
I'm offended by this proposal and how detrimental the idea of it is to our activity.
JimF-LowBari
Just keep that proposal from DCA, we've having too much fun.... "The Kitchen Sink" "I Don't Need No Potatoes - Just Give Me Some Meat!" "My Pet Rock Wore Platform Shoes" "Get On The Bus" "Music That's Fun to Play" In the not quite so pure category “Summer of Seduction” "Goodbye Blue Skies: The Triumph of Evil" And my fav "Yes, We're Serious - And Don't Call Us Shirley!" Yes, Were're Serious… And Don't Call Us Shirley!"
Randy Lamon
I can’t believe that people are disagreeing with this proposal. I’m very surprised that there is not more support for good old American values. Perhaps the activity has become so far corrupted that it has attracted a fringe element that quinces its wicked desires by attending or participating in drum corps activates. Maybe it’s too late to save this activity? How can people say no to the troops, children, America and mom?

HockeyDad
I'm offended by this proposal and how detrimental the idea of it is to our activity. Well, heaven forbid you should be "offended." Look, I think this fake proposal a lame as the next person (I couldn't even get through half of it), but, do we have to play the "offended" card? Really? C'mon. If so, well played and I salute you. But I do not believe that to be the case. (Thought I admit, "Musicians Offering Righteous American Leadership Supersonically" does scream "practical joke" to me) Wicked desires? Facebook promotes positive values? Shows that damage the audience? Tracking devices? Morally objectionable shows? Audiences are reserved when enjoying the activity- and feel guilty for clapping and cheering? What about people who have chosen not to follow religion- what do they do? Since when are shows are restricted to those under eighteen...? Also, please provide some examples of shows that expressly promote negative values. Not to say there are none, but I would like you to name some concrete examples. What I am a little more skeptical of is the shows that damage the audience and/or are morally objectionable... Examples of those, please?
