jimmyb
As I get ready to leave for Allentown, I am watching Blue Devils show from Atlanta on the FN. Can someone tell me what the symbology of the single feather in the plume is? I'm bringing along a newbie & need to be prepared if the question is asked! Is it related to the Rite of Spring somehow? I'm a newer member of DCP so I apologize if I missed any earlier discussion on this subject! Thanks!
ashevillemurphy
I don't know of any special signifance of the feather ... but if you look closely, the sequined black and white stripe up the front of the uni also has the same pattern as the feather ... MPutnam
This is just speculation... I doubt there is a specific meaning or symbolism to the feather. I think it just references the primitive, tribal, ritualistic nature of Rite of Spring.

mrjaydub
They are authentic replicas of the feather ink quill Stravinsky used when he wrote the Rite of Spring.
