Recommend shows that have never been done!

I think the music is better in Nixon in China. Some haunting themes in that opera. Or just combine the two and do a John Adams show.

I'd love this. Lots of great John Adams takes in the past few years. Blue Stars 2010 did an amazing "Landing of the Spirit of 76" from Nixon in China (9:15-10:45 on the Fan Network 2010 Finals video). SCV did great justice to "The Chairman Dances" from NiC in 2008. And of course Cavies used echoes of Grand Pianola Music in their 2009 show. Plus a few corps that dared to do Short Ride in a fast machine 13 years ago or so. But I don't think anyone has done anything from Klinghoffer.

I think you could do a great show from Nixon in China alone, too. Start with the actual opener, play it pretty faithfully, then take tidbits from the middle for the ballad, and finish up with an extended take on Chairman Dances, and that's an amazing musical lineup.

I'm sure parts of it have been done but an Irish show/Riverdance show would be neat.

Yes, Pioneer 1997 ( Around the time that Riverdance was popular in the US...)

Riverdance by Bill Whelan - Riverdance * The Heart's Cry (from Riverdance) * Shivna (from Riverdance) *Woman of Sidhe (from Riverdance) * American Wake (from Riverdance) * Firedance (from Riverdance) *Home and the Heartland (from Riverdance)

I have one request to be played before I die: The entire, uninterrupted, Brahms Academic Festival Overture. It's perfectly timed for the field (10:30 plus standing-O's) has a ton of mystery and surprise, and an ending that screams company front with lots of big bangy things.

"Drum Major, Leonard Bernstein, is your corps ready?"

has a corps ever done Mrs Robinson by simon and garfunkel.

I think it would suit the blue devils well, kind of how they used i say a little prayer.

...also, I'll prolly get beef for this, but i don't care. I really think that the chorus of Gwen Stefani's The Sweet Escape (0:47-1:20) would be good for Blue Devils. The echo effect with the background singers part would be trumpet screamers. Thats just how I see it though.

My annual request for PR to do Janacek's "Sinfonietta". :smile:/>/>/>

Did it with my HS marching band. What a great show!

Soundtrack to the Last Starfighter by Craig Safan.
