fsubone
Sylvester Sybilski (Visual Caption Head) Good choice there, since the guy taught every single Cavalier's championship, and got them to the top, then had a couple of great years at SCV before retiring from the drum corps game.

Yep, that was my rationale. But I've gotten to follow his career after his DCI retirement: he's one of the band directors at Poway H.S. in suburban San Diego, just a few miles from where I live. They still get Michael Gaines to do their drill every year and are one of the top bands in the state. And, of course, with Sly teaching them they are always visually very strong. Coincidentally, Poway High's colors are... black and green, just like a certain DCI corps Sly taught. I've seen a couple of videos of them, and they are always really strong. They've got good direction for sure.

mingusmonk
Good choice there, since the guy taught every single Cavalier's championship, and got them to the top, then had a couple of great years at SCV before retiring from the drum corps game. "taught almost every single Cavalier's championship" Corrected that for you. But who's counting.
