Going to do my best to keep up his work for 2014. Message me with updates. The master post will only be updated based on actual organizational announcements / confirmation. NodnarbSwagFish
OP, Cadets played Swing Swing Swing as one of their encore tunes this year. It's arranged by Jay Bocook and they also played it in their '95(?) show. The piece is by John Williams from the movie "1941". Hope that helps! EDIT: Added the Cadets playing it at YEAllentown! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2qI7yDsTB8 Edited November 1, 2013 by NodnarbSwagFish

The selections are nice but it would be really great if they did something that hasn't been done before.

charlie1223
I hope this is one of those years where Cadets change their minds about what they are going to play. The selections are nice but it would be really great if they did something that hasn't been done before. The mention of 2005, 2006, 2007, the use electronic voice and mark sylvester make me think that these selections will be highly "arranged" and be used as basis for what will be a musical collage that will be "inspired" by famous quotations. Hopefully, there will be elements of ambiguity like 2005 with the show design. Recently, I think there shows have been too straight forward to the point of losing variety to really be undeniable championship productions. I would hope that they take this dramatic, thoughtful, inspirational, proper tone of the music and reanimate it in a modern way or a way that people aren't expecting. I mean, appalachian spring is nice but I will be rolling my eyes if we reach the climax of appalachian spring in their show and there is a company front..... Hopefully Marc can infuse a bit of "modernism" and into the cadet program, something that I felt has been somewhat lacking since 2009 (besides 2011). Obviously, its just my preference. Recently, I think there shows have been too straight forward to the point of losing variety to really be undeniable championship productions. I hope that actual spoken recitation of famous quotation is minimal or non-existent. Over the course of three weeks, I saw three different marching bands do shows about historical speeches, none to any good effect. Who goes to band or corps performances to hear someone talk? The enjoyable exceptions (basically Crown 2007, Bluecoats 2007, and, for the most part, Crown 2013) are rare.
