Are there any planned changes or additions coming besides the ending? Last - what was "flat" or "sloppy" about the SA show, compared to BD? It seems the Cadets could have a higher ceiling on average, but I'm no expert on dissecting recaps. I'm not a big fan of the cummerbunds, but that's only judging from the Fan Network (which was crappy tonight, to say the least). Guard looks better with their additions though. I didn't see any new ending from them tonight and not sure when that's gonna happen. Cadets have some cleaning to do to top BD, but they're not that far off. The percussion book has sufficient demand, but the battery is more frequently staged in the mid to back field (compared with BD, Coats, et al), and this creates a challenge for the judges....especially a judge in the box....to hear everything they are doing. And as a result of the staging, they had some issues last night with the acoustics in the dome when it came to precise syncing at times. Even so, they are in the caption mix, and the corps is poised to keep moving up, although the talent level of BD is ridiculous! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They'd have a little more time for flares before Allentown, but by then it should be mostly buttoning down the hatches. Are they doing anything more with the stage yet? I was waiting on 3 main things with this show -- uniform change (check, finally), new ending (coming...), and more use of the stage (...not sure what the plan there is). I think the blue cummerbunds will need to be viewed live to appreciate. I kind of think they need that really powerful ending in and then just keep working with tempos and cleaning. You can appreciate how well written this show is by the lack of big changes. I find it impressive that they are very competitive for a medal with a simple concept, executed well, and without a bunch of electronic hype or geegaws all over the field.....and the show won't be the crowd favorite no matter what they do with the ending; nevertheless, I admire a patriotic show at a time where it isn't as cool as some other themes. George Dixon Posted July 21, 2014 Share Posted July 21, 2014 it is too bad patriotism isn't "cool" these days... speaks volumes about the times and our "leadership" regarding Cadets the ending is a bit of a worry to me - the way it flows now frankly "fits" the show even though it doesn't pull the crowd out of their seats it will be interesting to see what they do and if it successfully weaves into the rest of the program or feels like a forced add-on tag ending Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
