btown50
I am certainly getting a film vibe from the shako. With the concentric squares and the stripes on the sides, it could be either a cell of film or a representation of the spoke holes on the sides of film. I was thinking the same thing when I first saw them
ashevillemurphy
or the squares could just be one of the stock options available from the manufacturer... FJM.Looking through their online catalog reveals that is most likely the case... pages 15 and 18 (for example).http://issuu.com/designext/docs/fjmfall2013cat?e=1018762/5628507 Edited June 14, 2014 by ashevillemurphy

For example, they are not blue in the catalog and don't have the bold white lines, but the coloring may be a hand-done modification to the base plastic part. Of course, the eagle is also a stock option shown on one of those pages.

The blue color is most likely a reflection... and yes there may very well be a white stripe – but the discussion was regarding the "missing" eagle which was/is also a stock piece for the shakkos... and the possible addition of a "custom" square notice the folks in the background in the BD uni pick do not appear to have "blue squares on theirs".... also the white stripe extends from the shako, down the sleeve onto the right leg of the pant... the other side has the front sash that appears to fade from black at the bottom to blue where it aligns to the blue portion of the jacket...kinda' like the strip on the pant leg of Crown (from last year), lots of fade/gradient fabric - the sash, the right sleeve, hard to see the left side in this photo... Cesario, by the way, is the "creative" at Fred J Miller as well... CC, Regiment, Cavies, BD and others get their unis there so the homogenization of these groups' unis is no surprise. troon8
Not many of the new ones this year are symmetrical, are they?
bearwy
Agreed! These are easily my favorite of all the new unis so far.

flammaster
I think the 94 uni was the best design.
btown50
I do not know if this matters, but here is a good description of BD uniforms: Black "Suit" jacket w/ black and white lapels, silver buttons on lower part of jacket blue fade to black left sleeve, black and white sequin right sleeve, blue fade to black sash, red on the underside, Black gloves, Black pants w/white stripes down right leg, Black shoes & socks, Black shako w/white stripe down the right side of shako, square emblem (camera lens?), white plume with blue feather in the middle Edited June 14, 2014 by btown50
crownisking
Not many of the new ones this year are symmetrical, are they? Symmetry is boring and predictable, lol.
