Maybe I am missing something but my sense of humor seems to have left me with your references to the Phantomettes. I hope this is tongue in check and I sort of doubt it. Clarify it .

Someone lamented that the guard recently had really strong roles but were this season relegated to a shopping spree. Someone else essentially responded with "sometimes the lady folk just like to shop." It may have been nothing, or it may have been a stereotype.

For what it's worth, I can't imagine my wife wanting to forego site-seeing in Paris to go shopping, but the guard characters in Regiment's show are from a different era (when the shopping/sewing/baking stereotype was much stronger).

Why you Regiment fans let what people write in this forum bother you is beyond me. You know that they are writing this stuff just to get a rise out of you, right? Stop giving them pleasure. Your responses are their answer to porn. Just look at the longest threads. They are feeding off your emotions. Ignore them and eventually they'll leach on to another forum. I'm sure they'll have a field day with this post, but when they respond you'll see them for who they are. Notice how quiet they got after my last post? They know I'm right. Again, if you agree, just like the post. Let the leaches make comments.

One more thing, if you are here as a Regiment fan, interested observer or past member, and you have constructive comments, or just want to discuss the show, welcome. If you are here to stir up trouble so you can get your jollies, I think I speak for all of us when I say, "start another topic in another room." We've all had enough of you. We can take critique of Regiment. We just can't take you anymore. I for one am sick to death of your narcissism and sadistic pleasure trip.

If you want these people to leave, please reply. Then ignore them and their comments. Don't give them power by responding to their bait. No matter what they write in response to my post, I refuse to acknowledge them. That's exactly what they want. Don't defend me if they say something rude or self indulgent. Be above them. They hate that.

Regarding the Phantomettes, this is the strongest and most well executed show the have had in many years. Go back to June and see if you can find dropped equipment or poor execution of routine. Yes, the shopping may seem a little stereotyped, but Paris is the center of the fashion world. Book three ends in a Chanel logo formation, and since there are no men in the Phantomettes, it's a bit difficult to express male fashion. It's no more sexist than having the ladies kicking their legs in the can-can scene. It's representative of the Moulin Rouge, nothing more. The guard work is some of the cleanest I have seen on the field this year, and I have seen all the top 10 live several times. They are doing work equal to that of all male and mixes guards. That's saying a lot. And they do it year after year.

Its time to say enough is enough and it is time for them to create their own negative world on their own site. This should be a positive discussion. The Regiment horn line is wonderful and I like the show concept. All in all I am proud of our organization and our traditions and what we stand for. As long as we stay true to ourselves its a good year. What we give to our young members is invaluable and gives them a foundation that lasts a lifetime. As past members come back they all say it was a time to remember for the rest of their lives .

I'm surprised it took this long into the season to reach this point but I'm glad we have.

Ditto. Good luck to EVERY corps this coming weekend. You've all worked very hard this season to make it the horse race that it is. Well done! And for those who think winning is everything....you're missing a very basic facet of drum corps. It's all about the journey.......
