garfield
Actually, no. floccinaucinihilpilification is a real word. I utilized the word purposefully as it seemingly provides both the required gravitas befitting this thread, while simultaneously providing an apt description perhaps of where the poster's methodology here might lead us to what may be derived from this scientific exercise. For a better understanding perhaps.. posters here could look up the definition of " floccinaucinihilpilification " and see how it just might apply here, imo. The standard definition of the word is completely valueless. As is your use of it here.
kinetic inferno11
CADETS are done , Was just a matter of time till other corps matched their cleanliness. Ummmm, there is only a 1 point gap between 1st and 3rd. I wouldn't count any of those 3 out of winning. Everybody last year thought cadets would get 2nd, yet in finals they dropped a spot. Nothing is ever final until finals.

Lots of people were calling for Bluecoats to pass Cadets.
kinetic inferno11
No, "everybody" didn't. Lots of people were calling for Bluecoats to pass Cadets. Well, it didn't happen until the final night. That's why I think the top 3 could flip any which say this final week and finals night.
c mor
I was curious... In your methodology utilization how much consideration in your modeling have you given to the floccinaucinihilpilification factor. What is the Standard Deviation Probability computer modeling of this factor look like at the moment, dalyea ? There you go, throwing around the F word like it is nothing...I'm aghast! Liahona
w/r/t Colts: Seriously? Bad guard? Bad show? No brass? I think many would disagree with you, including me. I'm hoping they surge and beat BAC. Like the Cinderella team in the final 4 kind of thing. Doesn't DCI need a story like that? Crossmen are on the bubble right now...not BAC btw... Tony Flores
This reminds me of "fancy stats" that are now used in a big way in hockey, these analyses are very good to read and have done well in predicting results. it'll be interesting how this one plays out. All models have the chance to be wrong, this one for 2015 rankings predictions included for sure. For sure, the ultimate experience is seeing the corps give their all at finals and finding out which corps is crowned the champion.

BRASSO
Isn't this a come-on line that guys use to make porn videos? Could be, Northern Thunder. However, I seem to recall that the Scientifically based methodology that guides them in this, and appears to have the most promising results is, the selective utilization of what is referred to in Academia as the " Benjamins Allocation Principle".
