George Dixon
Are any of those breweries within walking distance of Lucas Oil? On Thursday and Friday, I'm pretty much on my own for grub and libations, as the rest of the family is only attending Finals, but I'll be without transportation. Edit: Nevermind - was able to locate them. Tow Yard is halfway between the hotel and the stadium, so I'll definitely be able to check them out. lunch on Thursday I'm going to check out Tow Yard Brewing which is 0.4 miles from the stadium and on the way from my hotel http://towyardbrewing.com/ it's a deli and brewery and is about a 5-8 minute walk from LOS - I've never been but gets solid reviews after semi finals I'm hitting the cool bar at my hotel (The Alexander) anyone or everyone is welcome to joing me! I'm actually heading to Vegas Friday morning after I get my prelims day-long drum corps fix on Thursday :)
dcikon2
I do think the guard could place as high as 3rd this year. I really like the writing. Staging for the guard has also improved. I have a feeling the corps will begin to show a steady increase in its score and might end up passing a couple of corps presently above them by finals. Jim had a Italian sub that he said was very good and while I never eat McDonald's, I did have their version of a Big Mac and it was absolutely delicious. I had a beer with an unusual ingredient that I can't remember right now (getting older) and it was also very good. We'll try to get over there. I don't see the judging community taking " a second look" . That would be whst should be done

Or is this wishful thinking:)

George Dixon
So who's falling if Cadets are top three? Or is this wishful thinking:) I say 4th is highest they could shoot for this year... Coats / BD / Crown (especially the last 2) are medal locks IMO Saw Cadets, BK and SCV last night - along with BD. I'd put Cadets in 2nd in that bunch based just on last night. I was gonna say...unless one of those three guards has a major meltdown I don't see Cadets passing them. AND Santa Clara has a guard too don't they:) And Caves too...interesting. Just saying lots to be happy with in these improvements but don't get fixated on placement and scores. Not worth it.
