Programs take time to mature even when you pull in a superstar designer. Stylistically they will (hopefully) be different from Crown. I see the top Level of their guard at 5 (which is amazing) but I can think 3-4 guards that have been very strong and no staff turnover. They'll likely be adding a lot more nuance and style as the season goes on, and then theres staging. I didn't really comment any specifics though so it's weird you say your reaction was different. Along with the whole staff and over 20 or so zingali winners from crown and pride of Cincinnati! I won't be surprised to see Bostons guard in the top 2 or 3 this year. Depends on where the corps can place. But I'm here to say I've seen the show, and the Boston colorguard is not kidding around. This is really unprecedented, such a talented staff and many performers moving together and drawing in talent for other top corps, to a much lower placing corps. Is there a precedent? Curious to know if any one remembers how things went down back when chandler left spirit. Etc... yes I know its hype.
