I heard the brass are required to do a triple axle and land in a split. The chartreuse colored tassels will glow.

I remember, in past years, people being mortified at the thought of changing the uniform so drastically. Perhaps recent struggles have allowed traditionalists to change their mind on this subject? I have always had the opinion that uniform doesn't matter in regards to a successful show. But maybe not... In a judging system that favors GE, this might be a necessary change in order to be a medal contender. no, from what I have heard, the alumni have just stopped sending their cheques like they were and are now donating to greater life problems like breadlines, shelters for the homeless, and other less-narcissistic charities more in line with the values of Holy Name rather than the luxury some designers have imposed upon modern drum corps.. We love the Cadets and drum corps but yes, it's becoming a more foreign entity and activity. The Cadets marching onto the field in the prayer block always was goosebump inspiring but now it's quite a stretch from that glorious experience. We'll see if I still connect with them this season. Yes it has changed over the years BUT I do remember the same said way back when. I still have uncles that marched 40s 50s and 60s that say it and refer to the 70s. Now ones tolerance for degree of change or opinion of that is personal imo.

I fail to comprehend how a uniform changes the values and lessons the members will learn and cherish for the rest of their lives.

True but the common thread across generations was the uniform and song.
