That's a 4-hour drive. I guess I will still head out and try and catch them.
soccerguy315
spotted in a fb post: one french horn (soloist?) and ... truck is traveling publicly on highways now so shouldn't be any problem? back of the truck is a motorized lift to move the pit equipment to the top level

I think he has his style and stays in that niche area. Previous years people have said visual is holding them back and then they made this switch. Eberts last group was Madison who had struggled with staging and visual effect. Even when clean that drill wasn't the same level as the other finalists. When they made that announcement I thought of it as a step back IMO. Could I be wrong yes but watching about 5 minutes of the show the music sounds great but drill is disjointed/sloppy. Comparing the academy's preview show to what I saw (all my opinion before I get bashed for hating) Academy is about level in music and farther ahead visually. I haven't seen anything, but it is definitely strange to take a staff that was doing worse and hope they are what puts you higher... maybe a change of scenery was needed though. I guess we will know soon if it works out or not.

Are you comparing videos or were you there live for both?

soccerguy315
I guess this is how you load the pit onto the top level... no human lifting required! Very fancy.
