wallace
It's most definitely the Blue Devils. One could point to other corps having hipster characteristics, but BD easily has been the organization that has turned DCI upside down since 2008.

True, but can we say other than costuming that the Bluecoats are counterculture? No. As fun as their shows have been, they didn't curdle the milk of middle America DCI fans. BD's shows, on the other hand, have engendered angst among fans that DCI hasn't witnessed since Star was on the field.
cowtown
My neighborhood exploded into a hipster mecca a few years back, we are now in post-hipster V 3 as most have moved on from some of the things mentioned in the OP. The only hipsters around me now are the Johnny-come-lately, Instagram followers form the far, un-hip burbs and beyond. Purely, an affected aesthetic of a consumer culture reduced to an already out dated trend, followers. Cadets
Fran Haring
All I know is... I am so un-hip that, in a 360-degree sort of way, I might actually be hip.
Cappybara
Very few fall under this description in my opinion. Bluecoats are probably the biggest in that respect, but Blue Knights and Blue Stars I think fall under that category. Blue Devils are half and half, though I think they definitely try to be as different and "hipster" as possible. Crown and Academy are the opposite of hipster

Fran Haring
I still think drum corps fall into the "nerd" category more easily. LOL

Closest thing our generation gets to "hip" is breaking one. Edited June 28, 2017 by Eleran
