Just Here Posted August 5, 2017 Share Posted August 5, 2017 If I were to speculate along your lines, I would suggest that the "dying" has to do much more with the money needed (wanted) in order to feel one could compete. Also, one must also consider the financial mismanagement that caused many corps to fold. To your first point, why do you think corps don't have enough money to field a show anymore? The activity as a whole isn't generating as much money so there is less to go around especially for those who don't make finals. Connect the dots As for your second point, pop music these days is an abomination. Wouldn't it be true that if the acceptance of synthesized music has increased in the culture at large that more people would be attracted to such music in the drum corps medium? So, let's go back to logic about your first point. What you would have to demonstrate to validate this opinion about money is that less people are attending show now than they did then.
