I adore Troop, and the last 4 years I've been so bummed they haven't broken into Finals with some REALLY fantastic shows. This year, I think Colts have the better design (something I'm thrilled to see after last year's Colts), and I'm satisfied that they were rewarded after taking a big step in bettering their corps. Oh I think the right corps made it, still stings though.

DcFr3aK
Love this horn line, color guard, percussion, and the potential this show had. When I hear "Duals and Duets: I want a true dual and duet. There really isn't too much side to side play or battle of high to low brass, battery to brass, visual to music. I see tarps and an okay visual design but nothing that makes me think "man this fits the title so well!" They're playing beautifully, but I'm sad at the thought of what this show could have been. To 2018! GO TROOP! Edited August 10, 2017 by DcFr3aK
DrumManTx
Welp. That's it for me today for drum corps. Have to miss tonight and a good portion of tomorrow to go teach some band. Have fun if you're watching! Will probably rejoin in about 24 hours.

ShouldveMarchedAgeOut
So does SCVC top Troopers? I think so.
Jake W.
To be clear: the guard, percussion, and brass are performing the hell out of that show. Executing beautifully!!!! Music book is absolutely lovely. In comparison with the corps around them, the visual book is just so thin. Very little layering, not much simultaneous demand, and not an effective mirror to the music. Again, as I stated earlier: this year will be just a small blip in Troop's timeline and they'll come out of the gate swinging next year; they're a fantastic organization that will easily learn from this show. I'm not worried. Members perform the snot out of the show. Just a little disappointed in the design.
Scadesfan
To the earlier question as to why OC is using the 45 instead of the 50 yard line. I'm believing it is because the 45th parallel north runs thru almost the middle of Oregon
