Cappybara
Haven’t gotten a chance to see the show yet but I have to say their graphic design and social media team are incredible. The Bloo logo with the flowers sprouting out of it is gorgeous Love the greenery as well
Ashontheinternet
wow. lets talk about those bluecoats. i think the best way for me to describe this show, especially in comparison to bloo22, is "nonintrusive." from the poem recording, to the electronics, to the actual band balance, its all exactly where it needs to be. not too loud, not overbearing, and really well used. i think i like this years poem more than last years narration even if it has some silly moments (" a chapel... a chapel... a chapel...") it is much more relevantly meaningful in the way i interpret it, especially in this modern american political hellsca- er, um, landscape... the music in this show is spectacular. opener builds super well, and theres some major musical highlights. one of my favorite bluecoat staples from last year was how well they made those drum set players lay down a fat groove, and this year is no different, and dont even get me started on that low brass feature, MUAH! biggest thing i noticed was it sounds like the mallets in the front are a little messy, but that also may just be me not knowing what the music actually looks like. hornline is the most powerful ive seen from bloo in a hot minute. spectacular. also hot #### do they know how to make those bluecoats move. the full group choreo after the opener is actually mind blowing how, not to mention that color guard. obviously the guard still needs some time in rehearsal to clean up, but that is one of the hardest shows ive seen from a guard standpoint in a LONG, long while. same thing goes for the musician's choreo. actual madness incarnate. bloo never disappoints me. this show especially. meaningful, thought provoking, groovy, and addictive. i see a good season ahead of them.

You are starting to see very identifiable markers that the Bluecoats like to repeat. I have the same complaint about the Blue Devils. The only difference is that I like the tropes that Bluecoats bring which is why I prefer their shows.

All I’ll say is that nothing in Bloo 2023 is a freaky-deaky as BD’s colorguard was getting on the field in the 90s. Talk about free love. I hope Blake’s ghost was watching. I don’t think Bloo has intentions to polarize but the good thing about art, especially greats like Blake, is that it’s available to a multitude of interpretations. I think of that BAC show that was borderline pornographic. I think it was 2009. That was freaky-deaky

That was freaky-deaky you don't have to go that far back in BAC's history for freaky deaky. just last year's program was pretty freaky.
