GE Question (simple)

Recommended Posts

Concerning the GE caption- I understand one judge is supposed to have a visual background, and the other a music background.  Question is, is it consistent that GE1 is ‘visual’ judge & GE2 ‘music’ (or vice versa)?   Or is it randomly assigned & we need to google to determine judge’s expertise?

I think the answer is yes - it follows the order of the performance captions - visual then music, left to right. (The old GE Viz and GE Mus were in that order, too).

J. Missing is certified for every sheet and can be at 2 shows at the same time.

I do find it interesting that J. Missing judged Visual Proficiency the other night when Blue Devils had a rather rough run.  Without Missing’s score BAC may have been closer, or even squeaked past.

In 2017, there was one of each under both...headings

So, if you look at the recaps from that year at championships, from left to right, the judges were visual-music-music-visual

Prelims: Jim Sturgeon and Chris Hestin under GE 1, Jay Kennedy and John Howell under GE 2

Finals: Michael Gray, Mark McGahey, Darrin Davis, Mike Stone
